AstroLens does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app runs entirely on your iPhone and never contacts any server.
The app contains no analytics frameworks, no crash reporters, and no tracking of any kind.
AstroLens makes no network requests whatsoever. It has no network entitlements and does not use the internet for any feature: no accounts, no cloud sync, no remote configuration, no update checks.
AstroLens uses your iPhone's camera solely to display a live preview and to capture photos, typically through a Vaonis Hestia telescope adapter. All image processing (focus peaking, the magnifying loupe, the live histogram) happens on-device in real time. The camera feed is never recorded, transmitted, or shared except for the photos you explicitly capture, which are saved locally as described below.
AstroLens requests add-only access to your Photos library, the app can save new photos but cannot browse, read, or modify your existing photos. Captures are saved into a dedicated "Hestia" album, created automatically on first use. AstroLens never reads the contents of any other photo or album on your device.
AstroLens does not require or support user accounts, sign-in, or registration of any kind.
The app uses no third-party SDKs, services, or dependencies. It is built entirely with native Apple frameworks (SwiftUI, AVFoundation, Photos, Core Image).
Because AstroLens collects no data whatsoever, it is safe for users of all ages.
Vaonis and Hestia are trademarks of their respective owner. AstroLens is an independent app, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Vaonis.
